notes & tips
- This is a real snack with staying power. The apple gives you fiber and natural sugar. The peanut butter gives you protein and fat. Together they keep you going for hours.
- Keep the slices from browning. If you're packing this for later, a tiny squeeze of lemon juice on the apple slices keeps them from turning brown. Or just eat them right away.
- Use any fruit. Banana slices, pear slices, or celery sticks all work the same way with peanut butter.
- Make it a meal for kids. Add crackers alongside the apple slices and let kids build their own PB plates.
