Applesauce Oatmeal

- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup applesauce
- Optional: Cinnamon (strongly recommended), Honey or sugar, Peanut butter stirred in, Sliced banana on top, A pat of butter

Instructions
- Combine the oatmeal and water in a small pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal is thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat. Stir in the applesauce. Add cinnamon if you have it.
- Serve warm. Top with honey, banana, or peanut butter if you have them.
notes & tips
- Microwave method: Combine oatmeal and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes, stir, then stir in the applesauce.
- The cinnamon matters here. If you have it, add it — it makes this taste like apple pie.
- Use any applesauce. Sweetened, unsweetened, cinnamon-flavored — all work.
- Make it more filling: Add a tablespoon of peanut butter or a handful of granola on top.
- Dairy-free by default. Uses water instead of milk.
