Equipment

  • Baking dish or oven-safe pan
  • Knife and cutting board

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Spread the apple slices in a baking dish.
  3. Scatter the small pieces of butter over the apples.
  4. Drizzle with sugar or honey. Sprinkle with cinnamon if you have it.
  5. Sprinkle the crushed cereal over the top.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the apples are soft and the topping is golden.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • No fresh apples? Canned peaches or pears (drained) work well here. Reduce cooking time by about 5 minutes.
  • Dairy-free: Substitute the butter with vegetable oil.
  • Microwave method: Place apples, butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave 3–4 minutes until soft. Sprinkle cereal on top before serving.
  • No oven? The microwave method is just as good. The cereal topping won't get as crispy, but the flavor is the same.
