2-3 cups
Ingredients 2 items
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Optional: Salt, Garlic powder, Chili powder, Parmesan cheese
Equipment
- Baking sheet
- Oven
- Paper towel or clean cloth
Allergens: None of the major allergens as written.
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400°F.
- Thaw peas by running under warm water. Drain well and pat dry with a paper towel or clean cloth. The drier they are, the crispier they get.
- Toss peas with oil and spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt and any seasonings if you have them.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until peas are shriveled and crispy.
- Let them cool on the pan for a few minutes. They get crunchier as they cool.
notes & tips
- Pat them dry. This is the most important step. Wet peas will steam instead of crisp.
- Don't crowd the pan. A single layer with some space between peas gives you the best crunch.
- Store in an open container. They'll stay crispy for a day or two at room temperature. A sealed container can make them go soft.
- Great chip replacement. If you're craving something salty and crunchy, these do the job for a fraction of the cost.
