Allergens: Contains Peanuts (if using peanut butter), Gluten (cereal — check label). May contain Dairy if using yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned fruit (peaches, pears, or mixed), drained
  • ½ cup cereal (Cheerios, granola, or any crunchy cereal)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter or honey

Optional Extras

  • Yogurt as the base layer
  • Milk poured over
  • Banana slices
  • Cinnamon
  • Granola bar crumbled on top

Equipment

  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Can opener

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned fruit and place it in a bowl.
  2. Top with cereal for crunch.
  3. Drizzle with peanut butter (melted for 10 seconds in the microwave makes it drizzly) or honey.
  4. Add any extras — banana, cinnamon, yogurt, milk.

Notes

  • With yogurt: If you have yogurt, put it on the bottom and layer everything on top for a parfait-style bowl.
  • With milk: Pour milk over it like you would a bowl of cereal. The fruit adds sweetness.
  • Nut-free: Skip the peanut butter. Use honey or just eat the fruit and cereal together.
  • Any canned fruit works. Mixed fruit cocktail is great here.
  • This is a good breakfast for kids to make themselves.
