Canned Fruit Yogurt Bowl
Layer canned fruit, cereal, and peanut butter for a cold breakfast or snack that takes 2 minutes to assemble. No cooking, no oven, no cleanup.
Allergens: Contains Peanuts (if using peanut butter), Gluten (cereal — check label). May contain Dairy if using yogurt.
Ingredients
- 1 cup canned fruit (peaches, pears, or mixed), drained
- ½ cup cereal (Cheerios, granola, or any crunchy cereal)
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter or honey
Optional Extras
- Yogurt as the base layer
- Milk poured over
- Banana slices
- Cinnamon
- Granola bar crumbled on top
Equipment
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Can opener
Instructions
- Drain the canned fruit and place it in a bowl.
- Top with cereal for crunch.
- Drizzle with peanut butter (melted for 10 seconds in the microwave makes it drizzly) or honey.
- Add any extras — banana, cinnamon, yogurt, milk.
Notes
- With yogurt: If you have yogurt, put it on the bottom and layer everything on top for a parfait-style bowl.
- With milk: Pour milk over it like you would a bowl of cereal. The fruit adds sweetness.
- Nut-free: Skip the peanut butter. Use honey or just eat the fruit and cereal together.
- Any canned fruit works. Mixed fruit cocktail is great here.
- This is a good breakfast for kids to make themselves.
