Garlic Butter Corn

Canned corn with butter and a little seasoning. Takes 5 minutes and turns a basic side into something people will actually look forward to.

Allergens: Contains Dairy (butter).

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) corn, drained
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Optional Extras

  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • A pinch of sugar

Equipment

  • Small pot or skillet
  • Stirring spoon

Instructions

  1. Drain the corn.
  2. Melt the butter in a small pot or skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the drained corn. Stir to coat with the butter.
  4. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and starting to get a little golden in spots.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, or a pinch of sugar if you have them. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Dairy-free: Use vegetable oil instead of butter. Add a pinch of salt.
  • Make it a meal: Stir in drained canned black beans and serve over rice.
  • Microwave method: Combine drained corn and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes, stir, and season.
  • Goes well with: Pretty much everything. Serve alongside any of the dinner recipes in this collection.
