Ham and Cheese Sandwich
Sometimes you just need a sandwich. Lunch meat and cheese on bread — warm or cold, it's the most reliable quick meal there is.
Allergens: Contains Dairy (cheese), Gluten (bread).
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread
- 3–4 slices lunch meat
- 1 slice cheese
Optional Extras
- Mustard or mayonnaise
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Butter the outside and grill it in a skillet
Equipment
- None required (skillet if grilling)
Instructions
- Lay out the bread. Add mustard, mayonnaise, or whatever spread you have.
- Layer the lunch meat and cheese.
- Add lettuce, tomato, or any other extras.
- Close the sandwich. Cut in half if you like.
Notes
- Grilled version: Butter the outside of both bread slices and cook in a skillet over medium heat, 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and the cheese melts. Basically a grilled cheese with meat.
- In a tortilla: Wrap it up instead of using bread for a quick roll-up.
- Pack it. Sandwiches are the ultimate portable meal.
- Any lunch meat works. Turkey, ham, roast beef, bologna — whatever you have.
- No cheese? Still a perfectly good sandwich.
