Allergens: Contains Gluten (pasta, bread), Dairy (butter). Check spaghetti sauce label.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta (spaghetti or any shape)
- 1 jar (24 oz) spaghetti sauce
- 4–6 slices bread
- 3 tablespoons butter
Optional Extras
- Garlic powder (for the bread)
- Shredded cheese on top
- Ground beef or canned chicken in the sauce
- Italian seasoning
Equipment
- Large pot
- Colander
- Baking sheet or skillet
- Oven or stovetop
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain.
- While the pasta cooks, warm the spaghetti sauce in a small pot over low heat.
- Make garlic bread: Spread butter on each slice of bread. Sprinkle generously with garlic powder and a pinch of salt if you have them. Toast in the oven at 375°F for 5–7 minutes until golden, or cook butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes.
- Serve pasta topped with sauce and garlic bread on the side.
Notes
- No garlic powder? Buttered toast is still great alongside pasta.
- Add protein: Brown ground beef or stir in canned chicken to the sauce.
- Cheese toast: Add shredded cheese on top of the buttered bread before toasting for cheesy garlic bread.
- Leftover pasta: Keeps well for 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water.
